Job Summary:
The Patient Escort is responsible for transporting hospital and ambulatory patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or hydraulic stretchers to their designated appointments. This role emphasizes excellent customer service and adherence to safety protocols.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Sanitation Protocols:
- Sanitize the wheelchair prior to each use, following the Wheelchair “High-Touch†Disinfection/Inspection Protocol.
- Follow the Equipment Checklist for assisting patients on and off the wheelchair.
- Transport patients safely and promptly from the Entry Point to their initial appointment.
- Provide courteous and professional service to all patients and their caregivers, ensuring a positive experience.
- Navigation & Communication:
- Follow directions accurately, navigate the campus independently, and maintain good communication with patients and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Required: High school diploma.
- Required: Minimum of 1 year in patient care and substantial customer service experience.
- Preferred: Strong customer service skills and ability to safely push patients weighing at least 200 lbs.
