Job Description:

This is a contract-to-hire position for a proven, top-producing Landman. The Landman will start as a contractor for six (6) months and, if proven to be an A-player, will transition to a full-time employee with the opportunity to gain an equity stake in the company. This position is responsible for conducting title examination and properly documenting and reporting the findings in a clear and consistent format. The Candidate must be seeking a long-term position. A bachelor's degree is preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience running mineral title is a firm requirement. Participation in the local Professional Landman Association is a plus.


Responsibilities:

  • Identification of mineral and royalty owners within assigned areas
  • Ownership entry into land database using guidelines, training, and leadership support
  • Clear communication of potential title issues and possible results with multiple departments and team members, including those who may not have significant title experience
  • Review and interpret various documents and contracts including Mineral Deeds, Oil & Gas Leases, and other title documents.
  • Assist with Title Review and other additional tasks or projects as needed


Job Requirement Essentials:

  • 3+ years of experience running mineral title
  • Ability to interpret documents regarding conveyance of property with regard to surface, minerals and leasehold
  • Proficient in mineral title and curative
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Skilled in basic math
  • Exceptionally detail oriented and organized
  • Works well under pressure
  • Able to work independently while still working as part of a team
  • A professional attitude and demeanor
  • Able to handle multiple projects and obtain results in a performance-driven, team-oriented environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • RPL/CPL Certification
  • AAPL membership
  • Open to working overtime when necessary
  • Local to Houston or willing to relocate, but remote options will be considered for the right candidate
