Description:

Clayton Services is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a thriving company in Northwest Houston.


Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: $100,000-$110,000/year

  • Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:Ensure the effective utilization of equipment and materials
  • Maximize production output while maintaining safety, quality, and costs
  • Collaborate with multiple departments throughout the manufacturing process
  • Drive continuous process improvement throughout the assembly process using statistical techniques and lean methodology
  • Support engineering product introductions and existing production lines by providing direction on assembly techniques
  • Investigate and troubleshoot assembly issues, identifying the root cause and recommending corrective actions
  • Evaluate rework and reject levels
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment for optimal efficiency and safety
  • Estimate production times, staffing, and related costs
  • Develop and evaluate equipment to produce high-quality products
  • Conduct production feasibility reviews
  • Generate assembly instructions and tooling
  • Provide technical direction
  • Other duties as assigned


Manufacturing Engineer Skills and Abilities:


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent project management and organization skills
  • Ability to successfully work hands-on during the manufacturing/assembly process
  • Computer proficiency
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Technical knowledge of production feasibility concepts, process control, quality specifications, mechanical assembly techniques, continuous improvement methods, and more.
  • Ability to support soldering and wire crimping processes as needed
  • Strong understanding of statistics
  • Proficient in data analysis and identifying patterns or trends


Manufacturing Engineer Education and Experience:


  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field is required
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer is required
  • Previous experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or IFS is highly desired
