Position Responsibilities:
•Responsible for leading the hiring, training, and development of the Ship Center maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and facility readiness
•Leads the maintenance team in performing diagnostic troubleshooting on all Ship Center equipment while also executing a preventative maintenance program
•Monitors quality of high-level mechanical, electrical, and controls repairs, coordinating root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes while ensuring the maintenance team consistently provides high-level partnership to the Operations team
•Interfaces with Operations Leadership to identify the most effective ways to operate equipment and mitigate downtime for necessary repairs
•Analyzes cost estimates, helps to source qualified contractors/vendors, and prepares and presents recommendations to Facility/Network leadership when changes are required
•Ensures all safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards are met, while also responsible for maintaining and auditing facility Emergency Response needs, including fire and emergency evacuation drills
•Responsible for maintaining a proper inventory of parts and supplies that balances capital expenditure with necessary resources to minimize Ship Center downtime
•Responsible for ensuring clear communication and timelines for work projects while also partnering cross-functionally with peers across the network to improve standardization
•Drive innovation through the development of best practices as well as identifying industry trends and tools that would contribute to our operational excellence goals
Required Skills:
•Working knowledge of Dematic conveyor/sortation systems; ability to troubleshoot daily
•Knowledge of industrial equipment fundamentals including electrical wiring, electrical components, PLC, pneumonic systems, hydraulics and building maintenance
•Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations (OSHA, NFPA, EPA, etc.)
•Ability to read, interpret and update technical documents (blueprints, wiring diagrams, manuals, etc.)
•Ability to use work order system
•Knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures to forecast and prepare budgets while also providing input on CAPEX budgets and projects
•Track record of demonstrating strong communication skills, specifically in a time-sensitive distribution environment
•Ability to interface with vendors and purchase parts in an effective manner, including cost-saving pricing and delivery
Education and Experience
7-10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with 2+ years in a supervisory or management role. Bachelor's degree preferred with focus on technical areas.
