Summary:

The sales representative is responsible for growing and developing the sales and margins of MSI's product lines with franchise owners of hotel brands and independent hoteliers within an assigned geographic territory.

Work Hours:

Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop relationships with current and potential customers within the specified territory.
  2. Educate customers by providing knowledge and training about MSI products, and ensure personnel are able to present product.
  3. Identify and negotiate MSI value propositions. Understand the customer's business potential and create programs accordingly.
  4. Understand our market competition and how to position MSI to overcome these factors.
  5. Utilize the various unique tools MSI offers to create a competitive advantage in the market.
  6. Understand retail business financials to consult with dealers on retail pricing, advertising, promotions, and ROI.
  7. Manage displays, samples, and selling tools for customers.
  8. Provide estimated delivery times and pricing. Discuss credit terms and sales contracts.
  9. Investigate and resolve customer claims through credits and RMAs.
  10. Resolve customer issues efficiently and fairly for both parties.
  11. Attend trade shows as required.
  12. Travel 40% - 80% locally, occasionally nationally and/or internationally.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum 2+ years of hospitality flooring sales experience (porcelain tile, resilient surfaces, wall tile, natural stone, etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years of related industry experience (natural stone, tile, or hard flooring industries)
  • Strong math skills for calculating figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume
  • Results-oriented with the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Intermediate computer proficiency
  • Valid driver's license
  • Interior Design experience or education is a plus
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Positive attitude towards sales
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Resilience to handle customer rejections
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Regular use of hands, reaching, and verbal communication
  • Frequent sitting, occasional standing or walking
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required
