About Our Foster In Texas (FIT) Program

Upbring Foster In Texas is a leading provider of foster care and adoption services, with 13 offices statewide. In 2021, we served 1,176 children, verified 140 new families, and connected 113 children with loving adoptive families. Our team connects children with caring families, providing safety, compassion, and support.

What You'll Do

The Family Services Worker (FSW) provides case management and direct services to foster or adoptive children and their families, including counseling, advocacy, and collaboration with social services, courts, schools, and healthcare providers, in accordance with standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

We Are Warriors | Setting Standards for Child Welfare

  • Conduct home visits and assessments to ensure placement viability and meet children's needs.
  • Develop case plans with goals and resources to maintain placement and safety.
  • Manage case reviews and transfers between agencies.
  • Provide crisis stabilization services promptly.

We Are Servants | Helping Others

  • Assist with child placement and post-placement services, coordinating with foster families.
  • Report incidents immediately.
  • Provide emergency and on-call services as needed.

We Are Family | Building Relationships

  • Offer supportive services for children with emotional or behavioral needs.
  • Assess safety and take necessary protective actions.
  • Coordinate with community resources to ensure ongoing support.
  • Maintain positive relationships with teams and foster families.
  • Exhibit cultural sensitivity in interactions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • Valid TX driver's license and insurance.
  • At least 21 years old.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Understanding of psychological theories and ethics.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and work independently.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills, with compassion and empathy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related fields.
  • Licenses such as LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LPC.
  • One year of relevant experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
