Position Overview

This role is for a Senior Staff Software Engineer within the Personal Lines IT organization. The team focuses on building innovative, well-architected solutions using Agile methodologies, including Scrum, continuous integration, and test-driven development.

Responsibilities

1. Lead technical efforts for Scrum teams, ensuring quality and completeness of deliverables throughout the software development lifecycle.
2. Address technical issues proactively to mitigate risks and impact on project schedules.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to design solutions aligned with business needs and architectural standards.
4. Mentor team members and enforce development best practices.
5. Coordinate across disciplines to develop and support complex business solutions.
6. Conduct technical reviews and ensure high-quality code and design standards.
7. Develop and integrate REST APIs and SOAP Web services, emphasizing XML/JSON structures and ACORD standards.
8. Perform hands-on development using technologies such as .NET, C#, Java, Angular, SQL, XML, and JSON.
9. Experience with Duck Creek Suite products and cloud integrations is preferred.
10. Utilize relational databases like SQL Server or Oracle.

Leadership Functions

• Lead IT design and development teams to implement solutions in compliance with enterprise architecture.
• Support multiple work streams, prioritize tasks, and mentor team members.
• Develop guidelines for capturing technical and business requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field with 10-12+ years of application development experience.
• 7+ years of experience in application design, solution analysis, and roadmap creation.
• Experience with cloud environments (preferably AWS) and Duck Creek products.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools and Agile frameworks.
• Proficiency in high-performance, high-concurrency application development supporting over 2000 users.
• Experience with front-end technologies, XML, JSON, and ACORD standards.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring in-office presence 3 days a week (Tuesday-Thursday). Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. The salary range is $126,160 - $189,240, with additional compensation components.
