This a direct hire position working for SESCO CEMENT at our corporate office in Houston, TX.

QHSE MANAGER

Summary:

The QHSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health, safety, environment, and quality programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. This role involves leading a team of HSEQ professionals, conducting risk assessments, and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety:

  • Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance.

Environmental Management:

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Oversee waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits.

Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and maintain quality management systems (QMS).
  • Ensure product quality meets industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Conduct internal quality audits and manage external audits.

Leadership & Training:

  • Lead and mentor the QHSE team.
  • Provide training and development programs for employees.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in QHSE roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial position within the cement or related industry.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of QHSE regulations and standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and incident investigation.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Certifications Desired:

  • OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, Silica Competent Person, Respiratory Protection Trainer
  • RCRA, SPCC, Air Permitting, SWPPP
  • DOT HAZMAT, TWIC
  • CSP, CIH, ISO 14001 & 45001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH

Working Conditions:

  • This role may require working in various environments, including office settings, manufacturing plants, and outdoor sites.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
