Job Title: Data Engineer

Location: Houston, Tx 77002 - Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite/ Week

Duration: Long Term Contract

Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server/Oracle Data Engineer - Senior Developer to join our team in a hybrid role. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in SQL Server and Oracle development, a strong understanding of financial or accounting systems, and experience within the oil and gas industry.

This position requires hands-on experience with database development, Python integration, and an understanding of modern application architectures. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment with a focus on high-quality, maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL Server and Oracle database solutions
• Build and optimize stored procedures, functions, and performance-tuned queries
• Develop Python scripts to interface with databases and support ETL operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate REST APIs and microservices
• Work closely with financial and accounting stakeholders to support data-driven processes
• Ensure best practices in database development and application performance
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and troubleshooting efforts

Required Qualifications:

• Oil & Gas industry experience is required
• Strong expertise in SQL Server and Oracle database development
• Experience in or exposure to financial/accounting domains
• Hands-on experience with Python for database and ETL scripting
• Familiarity with REST APIs and microservices is a plus
• Prior experience with the IDEAS Accounting System is a significant advantage
