Summary of Position:

The Story Teller will work closely with the Creative Director and broader ministry departments to develop, write, and produce compelling narratives that support the mission of Faith Family Church. This role will help shape the voice and tone of content through testimony videos, written stories, digital content, and creative messaging. With an emphasis on capturing the heart of what God is doing in and through people, this role ensures that stories are clear, powerful, and aligned with FFC's brand and culture.

Duties and Responsibilities

Story Development
  • Identify, gather, and craft compelling stories of life change, impact, and community within Faith Family Church.
  • Work cross-departmentally to find stories aligned with current series, campaigns, and ministry goals.
  • Lead interviews and write clear, emotionally engaging narratives for video, web, social media, and print.
  • Create storyboards and outlines to guide video and written storytelling projects.
  • Ensure every story clearly reflects the mission and message of FFC.
Video Production - Testimonies & Interviews
  • Coordinate with Videographer to produce monthly testimony videos in collaboration with the Creative Team.
  • Schedule and conduct pre-interviews to gather testimony details and shape messaging.
  • Work with videographers and editors to ensure final videos are true to the story and impactful.
  • Assist with on-set interviews and direct talent to capture authentic and clear content.
  • Support post-production with edits, story shaping, and final approvals.
Copywriting & Messaging
  • Write scripts, emails, video copy, and long-form content that supports church wide campaigns, social media, and teaching series.
  • Ensure consistency of brand voice across platforms and mediums.
  • Edit and refine team-generated content for clarity, engagement, and tone.
  • Provide weekly support to BVA with written content for social media, website, and promotional material.
Brand Narrative & Content Strategy
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to shape ongoing narrative threads across series, campaigns, and outreach initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of brand messaging for church identity, ministries, and special events.
  • Provide input and content for sermon bumpers, openers, spoken words, and special videos.
  • Participate in content planning meetings to align storytelling with upcoming church initiatives.
Creative Collaboration
  • Partner with the Creative Team to dream, develop, and deliver powerful visual and written experiences for Sunday services and major events.
  • Help support series branding by contributing to title ideas, taglines, and messaging hooks.
  • Attend rehearsals and planning meetings to gain context for service direction and content needs.
  • Assist with creative props and service moments that require written or narrative support.
Sunday Morning / Service Operations
  • Capture content on Sundays (quotes, moments, interviews) that can be used for storytelling or social media.
  • Collaborate with photography and social media teams to ensure meaningful moments are shared effectively.
  • Attend rehearsals and provide support with story-driven elements during services.
Keys to Success: How can I succeed in this position?

Have the required knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of computers and basic computer programs, such as Planning Center, Monday.com, Google Suite, Expensify, Bamboo HR, Studio C
    • Know and understand the culture and strategy of FFC.
