Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join its Operations business focusing in Oil & Gas for small facility-based projects in an active chemical manufacturing plant as part of the Bayport Site capital projects group. This opportunity is onsite in Deerpark, TX, United States.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing small facility-based projects within an active chemical manufacturing plant, supporting the Bayport Site capital projects group. You will lead the development and execution of project scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills to deliver successful outcomes across engineering, construction, and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities

Manage small facility-based capital projects from concept through closeout within an active chemical manufacturing plant
Develop and document project execution plans scaled to project size and complexity
Define and secure required resources, ensuring efficient execution and application of sound engineering practices
Guide project teams to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives
Track and manage scope changes, ensuring client authorization and documentation
Monitor project performance and maintain accurate reporting on progress, milestones, and deliverables
Lead regular project meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders
Collaborate with onsite and external contractors to ensure successful project delivery
Ensure quality of deliverables and manage project closeout activities

Expected:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
5+ years of industry-related experience (Project Management experience preferred)
Demonstrated knowledge of project management practices including cost control, estimating, scheduling, and forecasting
Strong understanding of chemical or related manufacturing facilities and how to integrate project work within them
Familiarity with gated work processes for project management
Working knowledge of procurement processes
Knowledge of ASME, API, AISC, PIP, ASCE, RAGAGEPs, and other pertinent engineering standards
Desirable:

Strong working knowledge of SAP Project Systems Module
