Responsibilities:

Systems Design & Implementation:

• Design, deploy, and maintain Microsoft-based environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365.
• Implement and manage virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V or VMware.

Network Engineering:

• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network devices, including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless systems.
• Ensure optimal network performance, security, and reliability.
• Work with VPNs, VLANs, and other networking technologies.

Client Support & Collaboration:

• Provide high-level technical support and resolve escalated client issues.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their IT needs and offer tailored solutions.
• System Monitoring & Maintenance:
• Monitor and maintain system performance, availability, and security.
• Perform regular updates, patches, and backups.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Document system configurations, network diagrams, and troubleshooting steps.
• Provide reports on system health and project status.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Proficient in Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and Office 365.
• Strong understanding of network engineering concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls).
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V or VMware).
• Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in a Systems Engineer or similar role, preferably in an MSP environment.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
• Must be able to work on-site in Houston, TX, 5 days per week.

Certifications (Preferred but not required):

• Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE)
• Cisco (CCNA, CCNP)
• CompTIA Network+ or Security+

Salary:

• $100,000 - $120,000
