The Quality Assurance Manager oversees the quality department's day-to-day activities, establishes and reinforces team policies, procedures, and goals, guides strategic planning, and identifies continuous improvement projects to ensure total customer satisfaction. This on-site salaried position requires an office presence at our RectorSeal Spenwick facility. The work schedule follows: Standard business hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Monday through Friday, with additional hours during peak times.

RectorSeal manufactures and/or distributes a variety of mechanical products for the HVAC, electrical, construction and plumbing industries. For over 80 years, RectorSeal's customers have depended on us for quality products of excellent value, shipped to them in a timely manner. This passion for excellent customer service is the reason RectorSeal has been growing at a very fast pace, this position will help us to continue serving our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages Rectorseal Quality Management System to ensure compliance with client requirements, industry regulations, and product specifications
  • Gathering and hearing the “Voice of the Customer” to take appropriate and effective corrective actions on time to deliver consistent, high-quality products and services
  • Guide strategic plant quality planning to ensure Total Customer Satisfaction while continuously improving Rectorseal's Quality Management System
  • Define, maintain, report, and accomplish quality KPI and objectives through managing the qa team, planning and evaluating department activities, and project management oversight
  • Manages product quality testing: receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final product inspection
  • Define and implement product testing standards and specifications, quality control plans, quality records collection and retention, and product sample retention
  • Responsible for managing the Equipment Calibration Program
  • Manages the Non-Conforming Material program, ensuring non-conforming material is identified and segregated to avoid unintentional use until product disposition is defined and completed
  • Lead auditor within the Quality Internal Audit program
  • Lead product quality inspections and approval during the introduction of new products
  • Define and implement quality control plans for new products
  • Other duties as assigned
  • BS in Engineering or other technical discipline
  • 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance with increasing responsibility
  • Knowledge and experience as ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor
  • Knowledge and expertise in product inspection and metrology

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Competencies:

  • 5 years of experience as a quality manager with direct reports
  • Ability to understand, assess, and problem-solve by leveraging technical and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and written skills
  • High sense of urgency to solve quality problems
  • Strong critical thinking and business curiosity; ability to drive insights and decisions utilizing multiple inputs and data sources
  • Strategic Planning involves developing and implementing a long-term plan that guides an organization towards achieving its goals and objectives. This plan includes critical thinking, creative problem-solving, effective communication, and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Risk Management skills include identifying potential risks, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate them, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness, and communicating with stakeholders
  • Human Resources skills include attracting and selecting top talent, providing training and development opportunities, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations compliance
  • Leadership skills to inspire, motivate, and guide the Quality Assurance team towards achieving its goals and objectives, including a clear vision, effective communication, and relationship building
  • Innovation and Change Management skills to identify innovation opportunities, develop and implement new ideas, and continuously improve processes
  • Communication skills that promote building trust, promoting transparency, and ensuring alignment and understanding among the organization and external stakeholders, including clear articulation of ideas, active listening, and tailored messaging
  • Knowledge about sealants, plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems and general construction.
