As an EDI Analyst supporting Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) in a supply chain environment, your role centers on facilitating the seamless electronic exchange of procurement, shipping, invoicing, and inventory documents with trading partners. You manage and troubleshoot EDI transactions (like 850s, 856s, 810s), ensure proper data mapping between D365 and EDI platforms, and support integrations using protocols such as AS2 or SFTP. The role involves collaborating closely with internal teams (procurement, logistics, IT) and external vendors to ensure timely, accurate data flow, while optimizing operational efficiency across the supply chain. A strong understanding of supply chain processes and EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT) within the D365 ecosystem is essential for success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end EDI projects, including initial discovery, scoping, and planning for new trading partner integrations.
  • Define and document scope of work (SOW), requirements, and timelines in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business teams, IT, and trading partners to ensure alignment on EDI requirements and expectations.
  • Coordinate testing cycles (unit, integration, UAT) and manage go-live activities for EDI implementations.
  • Oversee EDI mapping, configuration, and validation processes to ensure accurate and timely exchange of supply chain documents.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve EDI issues post-implementation, ensuring minimal disruption to supply chain operations.
  • Maintain project documentation, track milestones, and report on status, risks, and deliverables.
  • Drive process improvements by analyzing EDI workflows and identifying opportunities to streamline operations.
  • Stay up to date with EDI standards (e.g., X12, EDIFACT) and Dynamics 365 F&O capabilities to support evolving business needs.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of direct experience with EDI systems, including leading end-to-end EDI projects involving trading partner onboarding and integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of EDI standards and transaction sets (e.g., 850, 856, 810, 940, 997) within supply chain and logistics processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) and its EDI integration points.
  • Familiarity with EDI mapping tools and platforms (e.g., IBM Sterling, Gentran, TrueCommerce, SPS Commerce, or similar).
  • Experience creating and managing project documentation, including scope of work (SOW), business requirements, testing plans, and process flows.
  • Solid understanding of data mapping, file formats (XML, CSV, flat files), and communication protocols (AS2, SFTP, FTP).
  • Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams including IT, procurement, logistics, and third-party vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially with failed transactions, mapping errors, and integration issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies (e.g., 5S, PDCA, Process Mapping, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
  • Experience working with VANs or middleware platforms in a hybrid cloud/on-prem environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of ERP integration best practices and modern supply chain technologies.
  • Minimum of 2 years in Lean methodologies, process improvement, operational excellence, or experience supporting new product/service launches.
  • Proven experience in leading change initiatives and managing projects from inception to completion.
