We're seeking an enthusiastic HR & Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team. Position Summary
The HR & Accounting Specialist is responsible for essential administrative duties that support billing data entry and reconciliation, accounting, human resources, and payroll functions. This role provides basic billing operations and HR support, including managing insurance claims and maintaining employee records, while assisting with daily departmental tasks and projects under supervision.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Billing Reconciliation:
o Download and save carrier Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) from the provider website
o Use EOB data to accurately update billing spreadsheets via Google Sheets
o Review, verify and audit Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) from insurance carrier
o Follow up on denied or partially paid claims, ensuring timely resolution
o Utilize the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to notate claim status and denials for patient claims, proactively addressing potential issues
o Partner with the Intake team to verify insurance copayments against submitted claims to ensure accuracy
o Document, review and audit all billing activities for compliance and accuracy
Accounting Operations:
o Verify the accuracy of insurance reimbursements by balancing month-end and year-end receivables.
o Support budget preparation, tracking, and financial forecasting activities
o Maintain organized filing system for all financial documents and generate standard reports as needed
o Support year end tax preparations
Human Resource Administration:
o Maintain HR documents, including employee records, basic HR paperwork, HR policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other required documentation
o Update employee information in the HRIS accurately and efficiently
o Monitor, address and direct HR inquiries through Gmail and Google Voice
o Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, benefits and employee engagement and retention initiatives
o Support the HR team with reporting, policy updates, implementation and compliance
o Coordinate and facilitate HR-related meetings and company-wide events
o Assist with tracking completion of mandatory training as well as staff license/certification expiration dates
o Serve as a resource for employees and contractors on matters related to HR, payroll and benefits
Payroll:
o Assist HR/Payroll Supervisor with bi-weekly payroll processing and reporting for all employees and/contractors
o Enter payroll data and information into payroll system accurately
o Verify time and attendance data to ensure payroll precision
o Assist with reviewing payroll records, documentation and resolving any payroll discrepancies
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Education: Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred
Experience: 1+ years of experience in data entry, billing, accounting, human resources, or payroll.
Knowledge: Understanding of HIPAA regulations, billing, accounting, human resources and payroll terminology and HRIS
Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficient in using computer systems and Google suites.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with behavioral health practice management software
Familiarity with medical billing, coding and insurance claim procedures
