The Managing Engineer will lead and manage a team of traffic professionals to oversee various aspects of traffic safety and mobility within the City of Houston jurisdiction. The successful applicant will have a good understanding of traffic engineering principles and the increasing multimodal needs. The Managing Engineer will deal extensively and work closely with representatives internal and external to the Department and City to address existing traffic issues as well as to provide input into intersection and roadway improvement projects. The successful applicant should possess the qualities of an intuitive thinker and proactive problem solver, and the ability to see the broader picture and effectively communicate ideas as well as professionally challenge others ideas for the benefit of the City.
