Job Title:Environmental Project Manager

Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Environmental Project Manager to support environmental permitting activities for pipeline and facility projects. This role involves preparing and managing federal, state, and local environmental authorization requests, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes and will be comfortable managing field teams and consultants.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with environmental permitting for pipeline and facility projects including:
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Section 404 (Clean Water Act) and Sections 10 and 408 (Rivers and Harbors Act)
  • Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) filings (Prior Notice, 7(b), 7(c), etc.)
  • Section 106 (National Historic Preservation Act)
  • U.S Fish and Wildlife (USFWS) Section 7 or 10 (Endangered Species Act)
  • Construction stormwater permits, hydrostatic test discharge permits, HDD mud landfarming permits, and other relevant authorizations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental regulations including CWA, ESA, NEPA, NHPA, and Rivers and Harbors Act.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to communicate environmental requirements and ensure compliance throughout project lifecycle.
• Provide weekly updates to the Project Director and Director - Environmental Permitting regarding environmental activities and milestones.
• Interface with regulatory agencies to facilitate permit development and ensure compliance.
• Oversee natural and cultural resource surveys and review associated reports, permit applications, and consultation documentation.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, regulatory personnel, and third-party contractors.
• Develop project scopes, proposal requests, cost estimates, and permitting schedules.
• Manage environmental project budgets and ensure cost-effective execution.
• Supervise inspectors, field survey teams, and other field personnel.

Required Skills

Requirements: Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Biological Science, Geology, or a related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

* Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental permitting, with a focus on linear projects requiring authorizations under the:

• Clean Water Act (Nationwide Permit 12 and Individual Permit)
• NEPA
• NGA
• ESA
• NHPA
• Relevant state permits
• Strong understanding of USACE permitting processes (Sections 404, 10, and 408).
• Familiarity with FERC permitting processes (Prior Notice, 7(b), 7(c), etc.).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing deadlines.
• Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver accurate, timely results.
• Strong customer service orientation across all organizational levels.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications: Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• 10+ years of experience in pipeline permitting for natural gas, crude oil, and refined products.

Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

• Primarily office-based with standard working conditions.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time.
• Overnight travel up to 35% may be required.
• Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals, extreme temperatures, and loud machinery. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.
