Position typically reports to the System Director of Clinical Education.Job DescriptionMinimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelors of Nursing required; Masters Degree in Nursing preferredLicenses/Certifications:Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional nursing requiredCertification in Nursing Professional Development preferredClinical specialty certification preferredCompletion of American Heart Association - Basic Life Support requiredOther certification based upon specific nursing unit may be requiredExperience / Knowledge / Skills: At least five (5) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse and three (3) years experience directly managing staffPrevious experience in a clinical education role, preferredPrincipal AccountabilitiesManages the integration and facilitation of education activities at Memorial Hermann facilities as they relate toclinicalemployees.Analyzes training needs based on system changes and recommends appropriate training solutions as they relate toclinicalemployees with a key focus on High Risk/Low Volume competencies.Identifies, plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates education programs, interacting with staff to ensure needs are met.Coordinates content and validation design of initial and annual required education/competencies for clinical employeesEvaluates performance of clinical education employees according to identified criteria.Promotes team approach to healthcare delivery. Facilitates effective patient education at the service level. Evaluates effectiveness of patient education.Collaborates to develop and maintain new employee orientation program. Acts as clinical resource for staff. Communicates effectively with all levels of the healthcare team.Collaborates with MHHS stakeholders to identify and coordinate clinical learning needs across the organization to ensure safe, competent practices and care delivery.Oversee on-going audit ofclinical educationemployee files to ensure MHHS and regulatory requirements are met.Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
