About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of State Government Affairs and Community Relations to lead and oversee all state advocacy efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive government affairs strategy that enhances the company's presence and impact with elected officials, regulators, and key community partners. This role requires a strategic leader who can identify and anticipate emerging developments, maintain effective communication with senior leadership, and adjust the advocacy strategy as needed to advance the company's goals at the state level. The VP will also be tasked with ensuring that state government affairs initiatives are aligned with the broader corporate affairs strategy and will work closely with business teams to develop and advocate for the company's positions on state public policy matters. Applicants for the VP position must have a BS or BA degree, with a minimum of 15 years' experience in pharmaceuticals and government affairs, public affairs, or policy. The role demands a candidate with advanced knowledge of legislative processes, politics, and a solid understanding of the U.S. healthcare system. The VP will lead a team of State Directors and is expected to have a proven track record in managing and developing teams, as well as the ability to work cross-functionally and partner with outside groups. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence for greater outcomes. A diplomatic, intuitive, and mature presence, along with a customer service approach and a solution-oriented mindset, are essential for this role.
