Pay: $20.00 per hour (weekly pay)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM | Overtime as needed

Openwork is partnering with a well-established and rapidly growing industrial metals manufacturing company in Northeast Houston to hire an experienced Shipping & Receiving Specialist. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled logistics professional who thrives in hands-on environments and is confident handling large, nonstandard materials safely and efficiently.

This role is essential to keeping production on track by ensuring materials are received, staged, and shipped accurately, safely, and on schedule.

Position Overview:

As a Shipping & Receiving Specialist, you will manage the flow of materials through a fast-paced manufacturing operation. Your attention to detail, equipment expertise, and commitment to safety will directly support production and customer delivery timelines.

What You'll Do:

• Manage inbound and outbound shipments within an industrial manufacturing environment
• Safely operate forklifts to move oversized, nonstandard pallets up to 160" and weighing up to 5,000 lbs
• Stage, label, and organize materials for shipment with accuracy and efficiency
• Prepare bills of lading, shipping labels, and digital shipping documentation
• Verify materials against work orders, manifests, and quality standards
• Coordinate closely with production, warehouse, and transportation teams
• Use inventory and shipping systems to track materials and update order status
• Support continuous improvement efforts and follow all safety initiatives

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum of 2 years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Strong forklift operation experience, including handling large and heavy materials
• Comfort working in tight spaces around production equipment
• Experience with inventory systems, shipping software, and Microsoft Office
• Ability to read work orders, measurements, and shipping documentation accurately
• High attention to detail, strong safety awareness, and organizational skills
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work overtime when required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred
