Inventory/Receiving Associate

Description:

PURPOSE

In accordance with company policies and procedures, responsible for receiving and handling of raw materials and finished goods inventories to support sales, operations, supply chain and accounting functional areas.

CRITICAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
  2. Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  3. Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  4. Cycle Count Inventory
    • Count individual items per count sheet per day (est. min 25 items)
    • Researching the cause of inventory discrepancies and making necessary corrections.
    • Compare count to on hand value for any variance.
    • Monitoring and controlling inventory integrity.
    • Maintaining product identification and location program.
    • Tracking, and reporting non-conforming product.
    • Ensuring all labeling requirements is met in a timely manner.

  5. Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
  6. Receives material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.

  • Unloading and inspection
    • Unload packages from incoming trucks
    • Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
    • Verify packages according to order (quantity, quality, price etc.)
    • Contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified


  • Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries
  • Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
  • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control


NON-SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

  1. Maintain clean and safe work environment in and around assigned area and throughout office area as requested.
  2. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  1. Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position
  2. Experience in operating forklifts
  3. Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
  4. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. as part of the job function.
  5. Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
  6. Basic math and recording abilities
  7. Excellent organizational skills
  8. Good written and oral communication skills.
  9. Keen eye for detail
  10. High school diploma
  11. Willingness to work extended hours if necessary
