Customer Operations / Data Entry
Contract Duration: 12 months
Work Arrangement: The position is primarily remote with occasional office visits for scheduled meetings.
Pay Rate: $22/hr W2 no benefits

Job Overview
This role supports customers and utilities through accurate data entry, request management, and outreach. You'll handle customer inquiries, payment and billing escalations, and onboarding tasks while meeting weekly productivity metrics. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a customer-focused mindset. This position is primarily remote, with occasional in-office meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter, review, and maintain accurate customer and utility data across internal systems
  • Manage and prioritize incoming customer requests, including billing questions and payment escalations
  • Conduct outreach to utility partners as needed
  • Audit work for accuracy and identify issues or trends
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and suggest process improvements
  • Meet weekly metrics and deadlines to ensure timely customer onboarding
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a record of academic achievement (or equivalent work experience)
  • 1-3 years of work experience, ideally in customer service, operations, or a detail-oriented role
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage repetitive data-entry tasks accurately
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and work under deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a team
Technical Skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (working with spreadsheets and templates)
  • Comfortable using Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work across multiple systems and applications at the same time
Nice to Have
  • Previous customer care or operations experience
  • Utility industry experience (not required; training provided)

  • Primarily remote role with occasional in-office meetings
  • Company provides laptop and headset (monitors not provided)
  • Contract role with potential extension up to two years and opportunity to apply for internal roles
