The Utilities Inspector inspects and monitors utility-related aspects of Plan, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) and construction projects under the guidance of the Utilities Supervisor. This role conducts field inspections and audits to ensure compliance with design specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The inspector assists in managing utility contracts and agreements, coordinates utility service requests with county vendors, and supports efforts to establish, replace, or cancel utility services system-wide. The inspector also supports roadway construction inspections by addressing potential or identified utility conflicts.

This is a full-time position with the typical work hours of MondayFriday; Weekends (if necessary). Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed, including weekends, overnight, or any time during the week. Emergency situations may require additional hours. This position is considered essential personnel and is subject to being held over or working extra shifts as needed during times of emergency, declared disasters, or as needed to business functions and to provide services for the benefit of the public while other governmental office could be or are closed.
This role involves operating within an office and outdoor setting, implying that a significant portion of the tasks and responsibilities will take place outside of traditional indoor office spaces. Possible work exposures: loud noises, hazards during inclement weather, various temperature changes, and high-speed traffic.
