Position Summary:
To perform a variety of duties that support GWH's eCommerce Department. This includes sorting donated material into various categories and other items.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sort, process, and scan merchandise into assigned programs.
  • Receive and process items in a timely manner.
  • Visually inspect and separate items by category such as recyclable, sellable (in a store), sellable (online) and others as designated by the Manager.
  • Write description of book explaining condition of book.
  • Categorize books on appropriate shelf.
  • Maintain stock in store by removing items from shelves and stored areas as per manager's request.
  • Classify and catalog items according to content and purpose.
  • Deliver and retrieve items to and from departments by hand or using pushcarts.
  • List qualifying books/media to online platforms via internal listing software.
  • Move items to proper storage areas.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist with the security and safety of GWH Team Members and property.
  • Perform necessary janitorial work.
  • Provide feedback to Management regarding production and increasing efficiency.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and presents a friendly, cooperative attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task, make quick decisions and work in a team oriented, fast paced environment.
  • Must be punctual and have dependable attendance.
  • Must conduct work in a safe manner; maintain good housekeeping standards, have all aisles and pathways to fire exists clear and free from clutter, keep work areas neat and clean.
  • Must report all work incidents and injuries immediately.
  • Adheres to all GWH policies and procedures.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate, verbal and written, in English.
  • Excellent writing, grammar and editing skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
  • Poses excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
The ability to stand, twist, bend, squat, reach, kneel, push and pull. Able to lift, up to, 40 lbs. and, occasionally, lift/move items, up to, 100 lbs. (e.g. large bags of donations, televisions, furniture, etc.) Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

Indoor work environment with occasional exposure to outside temperatures. The noise level in the normal work environment is, usually, moderate.
