Tobacco Coordinator

Description:

Inaddition to all components of the above position summary the following EssentialDuties and Responsibilities are essential to successful performance in thisposition:

  1. Conducts on-site, voluntary compliance checks with tobaccoand e-cigarette retailers in the region to ensure retailers adhere to allprotocols established by the Texas Comptroller's Office related to minor accessto tobacco, permits, and required signage.
  2. Provides education to tobacco retailers in the region thatrequire additional information on the most current tobacco laws, especially asthey pertain to access for people under 21.
  3. Reports violations to local law enforcement or localcomptroller office; conducts follow-up, voluntary compliance checks with alltobacco retailers who have been cited for tobacco-related violations; andprovides informational materials regarding Texas tobacco laws.
  4. Coordinates with other providers and community stakeholderson tobacco compliance activities.
  5. Provides education to persons under the age of 21 who arecited for possession of tobacco products.
  6. Attendsand participates in the local school, community, staff, and other meetings inaccordance with program needs.
  7. Adheres to the professional ethics and conduct of standardsas established by Phoenix House policies.
  8. Attends all required staff training sessions in accordancewith Phoenix House and state licensing requirements, completes all training ontime
  9. Attends and participates in program and all staff meetings
  10. Adheresto and promotes the Phoenix House Mission, Vision, and Values while acting as a role model for others
  11. Otherduties as assigned


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Theincumbent in this position has no supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

  • Degree ineducation, social work, or related field preferred.
  • Two years'experience working with youth in chemical dependency prevention,intervention, or treatment setting. One year of experience working withfamilies is preferred for programs with family programs.
  • Must maintain avalid Drivers' License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain asafe driving record based on Phoenix House policy
