Overview of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Deli Associate is responsible for:

• Helping customers choose nutritious food options by preparing delicious "fresh and easy meals".
• Delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring Deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, maintaining cleanliness in the Deli department.
• Filling, managing, and rotating products and displays to ensure freshness.
• Preparing special orders and party platters tailored to customer needs.
• Operating deli equipment such as meat and cheese slicers, ovens, and scales according to company standards.
• Keeping a safe, clean, and organized deli area, including cleaning equipment, shelves, and floors.
• Inspecting and logging products for quality, temperature, and accuracy of shipment.

Qualifications

To succeed as a Deli Associate at Sprouts Farmers Market, you should:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and possess experience in grocery, restaurant, or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Exhibit a friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and engage well with our customers.
• Have flexibility to work a changing schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Be capable of answering phones and taking special orders.
• Lift and carry products weighing up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 8 hours during a shift.
• Maintain cleanliness in the department, including work surfaces and tools.
• Safely operate slicers and cooking equipment, ensuring all tools are well maintained.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, including obtaining a Food Handler's permit.
• Be able to work in various temperature settings (cooler and freezer).
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
