Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Location: Pasadena, TX 77502

Schedule: Full-Time | Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Occasional OT until 5:00 PM)

Pay: $20–$24/hour

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a hands-on Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations, drive accuracy, and support efficient materials movement in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations
• Verify shipments against bills of lading, invoices, and orders
• Prepare and process shipping documentation
• Investigate and resolve damages, shortages, and discrepancies
• Coordinate with carriers and internal departments
• Oversee packing, labeling, sealing, and staging of materials
• Manage inventory of shipping supplies
• Ensure outgoing shipments meet quality and customer standards
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment
• Train, coach, and evaluate department staff
• Enforce safety, quality, and process standards
• Handle escalated customer inquiries and issues
• Review reports and conduct operational audits
• Drive continuous improvement and Lean practices
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse/manufacturing operations
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing (or willingness to learn)
• Forklift experience preferred
• International shipping experience preferred
• Calibration experience is a plus
• Experience managing direct reports and leading teams
• Experience with Traverse software preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Ability to operate hand trucks and lift equipment
