Description

Job Summary: Seeking a seasoned Intermodal Dispatcher to assist our team in Houston to address customer needs and inquiries to our Intermodal division. This candidate will be a self-motivated individual that is able to handle a fast-paced environment and make impactful decisions for our intermodal department. Intermodal experience is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve drayage needs with timely execution of all import/export work orders.
• Accurate data entry, with confirmation of all port, rail, and customer work order information.
• Provide excellent, professional, and timely customer service whether handling customer inquiries, complaints, quotes, support in order maintenance processes.
• Provide clerical support
• Customer Data monitoring
• Maintain open communication with customers and team to ensure all parties are clear in direction, ensure accurate information is being reported and billed accordingly.
• Dispatch drivers daily and audit their run sheets.
• Notify customers of freight and port availability, capacity, and other important information.
• Will need to maintain knowledge of company services.
• Plan driver schedule to ensure freight is delivered safely and on time.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Manage container emails.
• Verify port availability.
• Coordinate and manage the assignment, flow and execution of moves by ensuring utilization of assets.
• Ensure safety, quality, and timeliness.

Qualifications

Competencies:

• 1-2 years of experience in dispatching. Intermodal dispatch preferred
• Must have prior experience working with port drivers and/ or maritime industry.
• Must be reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Must be able to prioritize workload and focus on service.
