Pipe Fitter / Welder

We are seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter / Welder capable of performing layout and fit-up with minimal supervision. This role is for a "true fitter"someone who can not only weld but also manage the complex layout, measuring, and assembly of piping systems and metal components. You will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings to determine weld sizes and system paths, ensuring a precise fit before the final weld.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of welding and fitting work.
• Measure and mark materials for welding and fitting; use torches and drills to ensure pipes fit perfectly into metal assemblies.
• Set up and operate welding equipment (MIG, Stick, Flux) to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Use rigging and lifting equipment to move large pipes and odd-shaped objects.
• Inspect welds for accuracy and quality; conduct post-welding checks to verify strength and durability.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints, including a deep understanding of weld symbols.
• Proficient in setting/calibrating welding machines and using cutting torches, grinders, and hand tools.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and move with frequent lifting of odd-shaped objects up to 50 lbs.
• Must provide your own basic fitter and welder hand tools.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fluency in Spanish and English is highly encouraged.
• Experience with GMAW welding of Aluminum (up to 3/16 thickness) and knowledge of various metal properties.
• Welding certification or TWIC card is a plus.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $18.00 - $20.00

Expected hours: 40 per week

Shift: 1st shift - 6 AM - 4:30 pm (or later depending on production)

Weekly day range: Monday to Saturday
