Packaging Specialist - Manufacturing (AM Shift)

Location: Northeast Houston, TX

Pay: $17.00 per hour (Weekly Pay)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Overtime: Available

Position Overview

Openwork is partnering with a well-established metals manufacturing company in Northeast Houston to hire a detail-oriented Packaging Specialist. This role is essential to ensuring finished products are packaged accurately, safely, and prepared for shipment.

Core Responsibilities:

• Prepare and package finished materials according to established procedures.
• Operate banding, strapping, shrink-wrap, and stretch-wrap equipment.
• Build secure pallets for domestic and export shipments, including proper dunnage.
• Verify product weights and dimensions using industrial tools.
• Measure materials accurately using a tape measure.
• Safely operate a forklift to move and stage materials.
• Inspect finished goods for quality, labeling, and compliance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused workspace.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2+ years of manufacturing or industrial experience.
• At least 2+ years of packaging and material handling experience.
• Strong measuring and basic math skills.
• Ability to follow detailed written instructions.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds and remain active throughout the shift.
• Reliable attendance and strong commitment to safety.

Safety and Compliance Requirements:

• Must be clean-shaven for proper respirator fit.
• Must be able to wear a respirator throughout the shift.
• Must be willing to shower at the end of each shift per safety protocols.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.
