Engineering Materials Systems Specialist – Job OverviewThe Engineering Materials Systems Specialist applies expertise in engineering systems and data integration to support and optimize digital engineering work processes across the enterprise. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent, standards‑based deployment and integration of Smart Materials (SRD, E&PI) and Oracle Agile, enabling seamless connectivity between engineering design systems and procurement platforms. The position plays a critical part in enabling data‑driven management of bulk materials and tagged equipment from engineering design through procurement execution and construction delivery. This position is designated as part‑time telework and may require at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.Major ResponsibilitiesDrive enterprise adoption and consistent deployment of Smart Materials (SRD, E&P) and Oracle Agile across projects and GBUsSupport development and alignment of project Digital Execution Plans for materials automationLead planning and coordination of SRD, E&PI, and Agile implementations at the project levelEnsure alignment between project execution needs and enterprise standards for materials systems and dataGovern Smart Reference Data (SRD) configuration, quality, and continuous improvementEnsure compliance with enterprise standards for classification, commodity coding, and material attributesAudit SRD and materials workflows to ensure adherence to standards and data quality expectationsOversee Engineering & Procurement Integration (E&PI) workflows from material take‑off through requisitionFacilitate alignment across Engineering, Procurement, Materials Management, and Construction processesIdentify and resolve system and workflow integration gaps across engineering design and materials platformsSupport continuous improvement through system enhancements, user support, training, and documentation developmentEducation and Experience RequirementsRequires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Engineering, IT, or related field and 2‑5 years of relevant experience and/or 9‑12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degreeRequired Knowledge and SkillsMust be a US CitizenMust be able to complete a pre‑employment drug screen and background checkMinimum QualificationsHands‑on experience with Smart Materials in EPC environmentsDemonstrated experience implementing SRD and EPI on at least one full EPC projectWorking knowledge of Oracle Agile PLM or equivalent material governance systemsStrong analytical, facilitation, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to interpret and develop procedures, standards, and governance frameworksExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to influence cross‑functional teamsPreferred QualificationExposure to additional Hexagon engineering toolsFamiliarity with enterprise data architecture and system integration principlesProficient with different data flow, data analysis and information management techniquesProficient integrating/interfacing data between disparate systems and various data types (e.g., structured, unstructured, documents, etc.)Conversant knowledge of data securityExperience with Bechtel Software Application ProgramsExperience working in a regulated (e.g., ASME NQA‑1) environmentEqual Opportunity Employer StatementBechtel is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
