Maintenance Technician

Description:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment used in the production, filling, and shipping of chemical products. This role ensures optimal equipment performance to support safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on production, filling, and packaging equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and implement timely repairs
  • Maintain and repair material handling equipment, including forklifts
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
  • Inspect machinery and systems to identify potential issues and ensure operational reliability
  • Support installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, environmental regulations, and company procedures
  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to prioritize maintenance needs
  • Assist with general facility maintenance, including utilities, piping, and structural systems

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (chemical industry preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, with working knowledge of electrical systems
  • Experience with pumps, motors, conveyors, valves, and filling systems
  • Forklift maintenance experience preferred

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators if necessary
