Insurance Verification Clerk

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Memorial Village is hiring an Insurance Verification Clerk! Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Memorial Village is a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center located in Houston, Texas, offering patients access to high-quality surgical care in a comfortable, outpatient setting. As part of the Memorial Hermann Health System and United Surgical Partners International (USPI), we are committed to delivering safe, efficient, and personalized surgical experiences.

The AP/Insurance Verification Clerk is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, entering accurate information into the system, and ensuring procedures are authorized. This role also supports billing, coding, and follow-up with patients, providers, and insurers. In addition, the clerk manages the full accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
• Willingness to learn and perform basic Accounts Payable (AP) functions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills ability to effectively present information to patients, physicians, and other employees of surgery center.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with EMR and patient access software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Soft Skills: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving; strong interpersonal communication abilities.
• Reliability: Longevity in past roles.
