Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer

We have partnered with a leading national engineering firm to identify an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical delivery on large-scale, mission-critical and complex infrastructure projects across multiple industries. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated, solutions-oriented professional seeking challenging, high-impact work within a dynamic, close-knit office supported by the strength and resources of a nationally recognized AEC firm. The ideal candidate would be located in Houston.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design and delivery of HVAC and plumbing systems for large, technically demanding facilities
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining strict budget and schedule adherence
  • Interpret and develop detailed technical documentation, including ductwork layouts, piping plans, sections, isometric drawings, and bills of materials
  • Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams to ensure seamless project execution
  • Prepare fee proposals and qualification-based submissions
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable mechanical, plumbing, and energy codes, along with client-specific performance standards
  • Perform HVAC load calculations and system analysis using industry-standard software
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring strong prioritization and multitasking skills
  • Apply sound engineering judgment, analytical thinking, and organizational expertise to complex challenges
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, internal teams, and authorities having jurisdiction

Who You Are

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • 10+ years of experience, including work in mission-critical or other high-performance facility sectors (e.g., healthcare, commercial, life sciences, industrial, or critical infrastructure)
  • Proficient in load calculation software, AutoCAD, and Revit
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management experience and/or relevant certifications
  • Experienced leading interdisciplinary project teams
  • Energy modeling experience (preferred)
