WE ARE COLLOIDS INC, PART OF THE TOSAF GROUP

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance Team based at our Baytown site in Texas. This is a onetime opportunity to set up, install and commission the whole business from the ground up. This role will be reporting directly to the Engineering Manager and will interact with all departments across the business. Work will be a mixture of reactive and planned tasks prioritised by the Engineering Manager / Shift Managers and Planning Department.

PACKAGE:

  • Hours: Nights 6pm – 6am Mon – Thurs (some weekend work, if and when required).
  • Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 depending on grade & experience.
  • U.S. Only: Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Colloids/Tosaf is required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer focused on attitude towards breakdowns.
  • Understand plant priorities and liaise with Managers / Production / Planning to ensure breakdowns are prioritised correctly.
  • Accurate completion of repair handover to Production Management Team.
  • Reports in delays in repair to Shift Management team.
  • Completion of breakdown tasks in a timely manner aiming to minimise shift downtime.

EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified, Experienced Maintenance Engineer
  • Mechanical – High school or Trade Certificate in an Engineering discipline
  • Maintenance and Repair on all mechanically driven equipment in the facilities, eg, motors, pumps gearboxes, vacuum systems, cooling systems, powder handling equipment, feeders, pipework, valves, and extruders
  • Install and repair facility equipment, testing and other production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot facility and production issues due to maintenance or repair required.
  • Perform weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance tasks on various equipment throughout the production areas of the plant.
  • Enforce the Lock Out Tag program and provide training when needed.
  • Repair and maintenance of plant machinery and other equipment
  • Experience in plastic or rubber extrusion desirable.
  • Experienced at interpreting mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
  • Basic computer literacy, as well as experience of using CMMS software desirable.
  • Ability to self-manage during shift hours.
  • Good communicator across shifts within Engineering team and with Shift managers / Process Operators.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and highly customer focused.
