Appraisal Clerk/Sp Ed

Under the direct supervision of the campus-based evaluation staff and the speech language pathologist, the clerk will provide reception and clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the campus special education department.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Proficiency in typing and word processing
  • Working knowledge of basic office procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and in a positive manner
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use personal computer and software for spreadsheets, databases, word processing and electronically invite/schedule meetings
  • Bilingual preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist in office management duties.
  • Assist in maintaining an efficient and positive work environment.
  • Assist campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist in maintaining federal, state and local regulations and timelines by monitoring reports generated from district software system.
  • ARD Meeting responsibilities:
    • Maintain monthly calendar for upcoming ARDs and staff meetings
    • Schedule ARD meetings for campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist
    • Assist in preparing materials for all ARD meetings
    • Work collaboratively with campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist to ensure the required/necessary participants are invited to ARD meetings
    • Scan, upload and mail ARD documents to teachers and parents
  • Maintain records, files, and other required documents on special education students
  • File and maintain documents in the audit folder and special education software system immediately after the ARD is completed and activated
  • Assist speech pathologist in preparing instructional materials as needed
  • Communicate to district office any requests for records
  • Interpret ARDs and phone calls, as necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as determined by the campus-based evaluation staff, speech pathologist or principal.
