We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Dining Porter. This person will have a genuine interest in working with older adults and be able to engage, motivate, and support both residents and fellow team members. The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, and aligned with our values of respect, excellence, and community. Essential functions include being in proper uniform, clocked in and ready to work at scheduled time; following outlined daily and weekly cleaning schedules; operating dish machine by standard procedures; operating 3-compartmental pot sink by standard guidelines; pre-soaking all dirty silverware; inspecting all stemware for cleanliness and to ensure that they are spot free; changing water in dish machine and pot sink as necessary; transporting all clean small wares to their proper storage place; properly disposing of all garbage and cardboard boxes; keeping all equipment cleaned and polished.
Additional duties include assisting chef in washing, peeling, cutting of food; sweeping and mopping all hard floor surfaces during shift; cleaning up all spills of hard floor surfaces; discarding broken and chipped glass and plate ware after showing to supervisor. Keeps all storage facilities clean and organized; follows all scheduled cleaning assignments; informs Sous Chef or their designee of any janitorial items needed to complete job. Maintains work area and keeps the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards. Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates the community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates and vendors.
Qualifications include the ability to read, write and follow written and verbal directions. High School education or GED preferred, but not required.
