Rolling Mill Operator

Clayton Services is searching for a Rolling Mill Operator to join a thriving manufacturing company in the Humble, Texas area. The Rolling Mill Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring industrial rolling equipment to produce material according to established production and quality specifications.

Job Type: Direct Hire Pay Rate: $17.00–$19.00/hour, depending on experience Benefits: Excellent benefits available upon hire. Schedule: Fixed 2-2-3 schedule, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM

Rolling Mill Operator Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate industrial rolling equipment and supporting machinery.
• Adjust operating parameters according to production specifications.
• Monitor equipment and product conditions throughout the manufacturing process.
• Inspect finished and in-process materials for quality concerns.
• Collect product samples for quality inspection.
• Record production quantities, downtime, scrap, and operating information.
• Identify equipment problems and communicate maintenance needs.
• Assist with material movement and handling as required.
• Maintain equipment readiness to minimize production interruptions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and production concerns.
• Follow established plant safety, quality, and production procedures.

Rolling Mill Operator Skills and Abilities:

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to operate industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Basic knowledge of measurement tools and dimensional inspection.
• Ability to monitor machine settings and production conditions.
• Strong attention to product quality.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-recognition skills.
• Strong safety awareness and teamwork.
• Overhead crane experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
• Ability to work a fixed day or night 12-hour schedule.

Rolling Mill Operator Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous industrial machine-operation or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Rolling mill experience is highly desirable but not required for candidates with strong transferable manufacturing experience.
• Experience within metals, steel, aluminum, wire and cable, extrusion, pipe/tube, or other continuous manufacturing operations is a plus.
