Shipping & Receiving OperatorLocation: Spring, TX 77389Shift: 1st Shift | 5:00 AM - 5:00 PMSchedule: 12-hour shifts, 6 days per week, rotating day offPay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hourJob Type: Temp to hire, 6 month contract assignment before permanent conversionJob Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Operator is responsible for coordinating and executing all outbound and inbound material movements. This role ensures accurate shipping documentation, proper handling of materials, safe equipment operation, and effective communication with carriers, purchasing, and production teams.Key Responsibilities:Verify outbound shipments by ensuring loaded materials match Bills of Lading and shipping documentationInteract professionally with carrier driversReceive incoming materials, unload deliveries, and verify condition, quantity, and accuracy against inbound paperworkLabel and color code materials for accurate identificationPrepare, package, and stage materials for shipmentCompare incoming and outgoing shipments against Bills of Lading, invoices, work orders, and RMAsMaintain accurate shipping and receiving recordsDeliver verified vendor paperwork to the Purchasing departmentTransfer materials to stock locations or deliver to requesters as appropriateCheck inventory levels as requested and report discrepanciesSafely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand dollies, and other material handling equipmentLoad and unload trucks based on product type and carrier requirements (Flatbed, LTL, FedEx, Bulk Resin, Fiberglass, etc.)Move materials between shipping/receiving areas, storage, and production areasWork with Purchasing and Inventory Control to order production materials and suppliesPrint and manage production labelsAssist the Production Foreman with scheduling and planning, as neededMaintain adequate shipping supplies (cartons, pallets, banding materials, lumber, inks, etc.)Qualifications:High school diploma or GED preferredPrior shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience 1-2 yearsAbility to read and write in English or Spanish (bilingual preferred)Ability to safely operate a forklift and material handling equipmentAbility to read and interpret a standard measuring tapeUnderstanding of quality, environmental, and workplace safety requirementsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to frequently lift and/or move materials up to 50 lbsAbility to safely operate material handling equipment throughout the shiftWork Environment:Manufacturing/warehouse settingOpen air shopModerate noise levelsPre Employment Requirements:Must pass a background checkMust successfully complete a drug screenMust participate in an in person interviewIND153 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
